Staff Spotlight: Kallie Eller

You know when people are just effortlessly cool? Well, that’s what we would say about our processing reuse specialist, Kallie Eller (she/her) at ACR! You’'ll also see why after reading through this interview and looking at pictures of her art.

How did you find Austin Creative Reuse?

I first discovered ACR in 2020 when I donated some scrapbooking supplies for my mom.

What’s your favorite part about working at ACR?

My favorite part about working at ACR is discovering all the hidden gems and vintage items that come in. There's so much history that comes through our doors.

How’d you end up as a reuse specialist at ACR?

I applied to ACR in the spring of last year and just happened to live down the street at the time. I got called in for an interview and have been here ever since.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve found donated to ACR?

Probably human teeth. And mystery hair.

Are you an artist, crafter, or maker? What mediums do you work with?

I work with a few different mediums, but I most enjoy printmaking and sculpture. I like to use subtractive techniques such as carving.

What do you do when you’re not working at ACR/what other hobbies do you have?

When not at ACR I’m either working on school, making art, or spending time with my dog. Sometimes all at once.

Do you have any children or pets?

I have a very friendly pitbull named Chop.

Are you from Austin? And if not, where are you from?

I am from Austin, born and raised!

Where can people see more of your art?
