July Reuse & [Re]Think Winner: Audrey R!

July came and went in the blink of a sweaty eye, and ya’ll sure showed us the versatility of July’s material of the month, buttons! Once again, our panel of judges were excited to look through the numerous submissions for this Reuse & [Re]Think Challenge, and we’re excited to announce the winner - Audrey R!

Audrey made these socks with buttons crocheted on them to give relatives as homemade gifts. Not only that, but they also received matching necklaces! Our judges loved the delicate workmanship of crochet in these pieces and all agreed that using buttons as sock fringe should totally be a thing!

I make Christmas trees by covering cones with old wool, lace, vintage jewelry, watch faces and buttons!

I made a button necklace! I got the buttons and most of the beads from various trips to ACR, the jump rings and a few of the beads came from a friend who used to make jewelry, and the wire base was from a local bead shop (Austin Bead Gallery).
