Art Advantage Summer Camp at Austin Creative Reuse
Discover a creative and eco-friendly summer at Art Advantage Summer Camp at Austin Creative Reuse. This independently-run camp is led by Barbara Paris, an artist and certified art teacher with 20 years of experience teaching in public schools, and she will be joined by another teacher to help support the campers.
Campers will enjoy a hands-on art experience that blends creativity, learning, and sustainability. Through painting on large canvases, exploring the elements of art, and creating imaginative projects with reused materials, children will discover how everyday items can be transformed into meaningful works of art.
This camp encourages young artists to build confidence, express themselves creatively, and have fun in an inspiring environment. It's a wonderful opportunity for children who love art, enjoy making things, and are excited to explore their imagination.
This camp is ideal for children ages 5–13 and is $200 per week. For questions, contact Barbara Paris at 512-507-8186 or email barbarajparis@gmail.com. Sign up via this form.

Community Volunteering: Ops Squad
Join us for hands-on, high-impact volunteer sessions designed to help keep ACR running smoothly, safely, and creatively. Each session focuses on a rotating mix of projects based on our current needs. That might include deep cleaning and organizing different areas of the center, tidying up outdoor spaces, improving storage systems, or collaborating on creative projects like signage for our thrift store. No two sessions are exactly the same, but every session plays an important role in supporting our organization.
These volunteer sessions are ideal for folks who enjoy staying busy, working collaboratively, and seeing the immediate impact of their efforts. Volunteers should be prepared for a productive, fast-paced 2–3 hours. Dress in clothes you can get messy, wear comfortable shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. All sessions are led by ACR’s Center Operations Manager.
At ACR, we’re always evolving and finding new ways to improve our space and better serve our community. These sessions are a chance to be part of that ongoing process, helping us maintain a welcoming, functional, and inspiring environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
Must be 15 years old or accompanied by an adult to volunteer.
Please bring a refillable water bottle.
