If you enjoy creating order out of chaos, this is the opportunity for you!

Learn to make beautiful origami to compliment your gifts and daily life! Paper can be more versatile and functional than plastic and zhuzh up anyone's routine. Reusing junk mail, left over magazines, and even cardboard can beautify and satisfy. You can send a message to the people in your life with the gift of time when you gift your origami.
Join Kelly (she/her) in our community space (next to the Office Section) to play with pretty paper and practice origami! This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 12-3PM to participate.

Spring Reuse Art Market
Join ACR for our 6th Annual Spring Reuse Art Market on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 from 11AM-4PM each day, featuring shopping, eco activities and family fun!
There will be over 100 unique vendors across the weekend and multiple activities each day, including five-minute volunteering, adoptable dogs, eco-friendly crafts, games and more! KOOP will be on hand spinning vinyl live each day!

Spring Reuse Art Market
Join ACR for our 6th Annual Spring Reuse Art Market on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 from 11AM-4PM each day, featuring shopping, eco activities and family fun!

ACR at 30th Art in the Park
Join ACR at the 30th Anniversary of Art in the Park, an inclusive arts festival centering children with disabilities - with hands-on art and live performances at Fiesta Gardens.
Art in the Park is an inclusive and accessible arts festival centering children with disabilities. Each year, students and groups enjoy a field trip day at the park to engage in accessible art activities, performances and community - all led by local artist volunteers and organizations. Although centering children, this event sees a multi-generational audience, is free and entirely open to the public.

Neighborhood Litter Clean-Up for Keep Austin Beautiful Day
Join Austin Creative Reuse and Keep Austin Beautiful for a neighborhood litter clean-up! We’ll meet at our center (2005 Wheless Ave) then split into groups to pick up trash at various sites around the neighborhood.

Cleanup supplies will be provided on-site. If you prefer you may bring your own gloves.
When picking up litter, Keep Austin Beautiful recommends participants do so responsibly and at their comfort level.
Youth Volunteers: All volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. Independent registrations submitted by minors are not permitted.
Sewing Machine Maintenance Workshop and Volunteer Recruitment
Is your sewing machine acting up? Want to keep it in top shape for years to come? Join us for a hands-on Sewing Machine Maintenance & Repair Workshop, where you’ll learn the basics of machine upkeep and how to troubleshoot common issues. Our sewing machine testing volunteers, Carole and Carrie, will help you learn all about your sewing machine and how to keep it running smoothly and will have more info for participants that are interested in becoming sewing machine testing volunteers at ACR. We’re always looking for more folks to help us test and price the sewing machines that we receive!
This is a free event, but you must bring your own sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal and all accessories.

Practice cleaning, oiling, and adjusting your machine to improve performance.

Come join us for a fun afternoon volunteering and connecting with other members of your community! You will help us process some of our "specialty" fabric! We will measure, roll and price material like silk, minky, batting, linen and much more. One of the best parts is that you get first look at all our amazing fabric to buy too!

ACR at 2026 Wheatsville Plant & Sustainability Fair
ACR will be at Wheatsville’s 2026 Plant & Sustainability Fair at their South Lamar location, featuring a large starter plant sale, local art vendors and community organizations, plus a live DJ!
ACR core volunteer and origami queen, Kelly, will be on hand to teach participants how to fold origami seedling starter pots, perfect to use to get your spring garden started!

ACR at Natural Sciences Week: Night at the Museum
Join ACR at the Texas Science and Natural History Museum for an event showcasing talented artists and organizations within the College of Natural Sciences who fuse scientific exploration with artistic expression. Attendees will experience a variety of works—from visual art to interactive installations—that highlight the creative potential in scientific disciplines.
ACR will be on hand with a volunteer-led art-related activity.
