Arts & Craft Brews Night: Mixed-Media Gratitude Postcards & Journals
Join Austin Creative Reuse at Austin Beerworks Taproom for a delightful evening of creativity and connection at our Mixed-Media Gratitude Postcards & Journals workshop! Under the guidance of Austin Creative Reuse, you'll craft unique postcards to send to those you appreciate, or create a custom art journal to cherish your gratitude journey.
Bring your friends, or come solo to meet new ones, and leave with beautiful creations that spread joy and gratitude this holiday season. Let's celebrate the people who make our lives brighter—one postcard and journal at a time!
Beverages Included: Each ticket includes one complimentary beer from Austin Beerworks Taproom, or a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice. Enjoy a drink while you create!

Workshop: CRAFTernoon
This Crafternoon gathering is designed for artists, crafters, and DIY enthusiasts of all levels to come together, share ideas, and work on their projects in a supportive and inspiring environment. Whether you're into knitting, scrapbooking, painting, or any other creative pursuit, this space is the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and find inspiration.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

Sorting & Packaging is going through all the tiny odds and ends, sorting them by like items and packaging them for the floor. If you enjoy creating order out of chaos, this is the opportunity for you!

Learn to make beautiful origami to compliment your gifts and daily life! Paper can be more versatile and functional than plastic and zhuzh up anyone's routine. Reusing junk mail, left over magazines, and even cardboard can beautify and satisfy. You can send a message to the people in your life with the gift of time when you gift your origami.
Join Kelly (she/her) in our community space (next to our registers- look for the orange couch) to play with pretty paper and practice origami! This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 12-3pm to participate.

Our Community Volunteer days are a time for anyone who would like to lend a hand come in and volunteer. Join us in creating hand stitched dog toys for animals currently residing in local shelters. No experience required - we’ll show you what to do!

Workshop: Intro to Embroidery
Intimidated by embroidery? Learn from an embroidery pro!
In this workshop, students will learn several basic embroidery stitches as well as an overview of embroidering patterning and finishing options. While participants practice their embroidery skills, they will be creating a beautiful design to go in their home! The instructor will have several patterns to choose from and all necessary supplies will be provided. Alongside their project, participants will take home a needle and embroidery floss (embroidery hoops will be provided for the workshop but not to take home) to finish their project.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only.
National Family Volunteer Day!
Celebrate the giving season with a special edition volunteer event on National Family Volunteering Day! Come in with your loved ones to help process gently used creative materials and contribute to the positive impact we’re creating together. We know how incredibly valuable family time is, so as a token of our appreciation for your contribution, we’ll be offering an exclusive in-store coupon to those who attend.

Workshop: Print Your Own Wrapping Paper
Join us for this for this fun project and design your own wrapping paper! Creating your own wrapping paper can be such a delightful and personalized touch for any gift.
You can customize the design to suit any occasion or recipient, whether it's birthdays, holidays, or special events. Plus, it adds a personal touch to your gifts. Learn how to use various techniques such as printing, stamping, or hand-drawing to create unique patterns and designs!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only.
Workshop: Sustainable Sculpting: Pugs
Join us for a fun and creative workshop where you'll learn to sculpt adorable pugs out of polymer clay! Led by an experienced instructor Joan Cabarrus, you’ll discover how to use affordable, sustainable alternatives to traditional tools, showcasing household items that can help you shape and detail your creation. Not only will you leave with a cute pug figurine, but you’ll also gain valuable tips on how to craft sustainably!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11 and up (yes, adults too!).

You’re invited to a Craft & Quiz Party to celebrate the Elf movie! Get ready for Santa by making decorations for your home, like Buddy the Elf at Gimbels department store. Prove that you’ve been studying the Code of Elves with a movie trivia quiz. Costumes are encouraged!

Workshop: Collage to Collagraph Print (Day 1)
Join us for a two-day creative workshop that explores the exciting intersection of collage and printmaking! Over the course of the weekend, you’ll learn how to transform simple materials into dynamic artwork through a hands-on process combining mixed media collage and collagraph printmaking.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only.
Workshop: Fake Cake Box Decorating
Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll transform up-cycled boxes and containers into stunning cake designs! In this fun and eco-friendly class, you’ll learn innovative techniques for decorating cakes using repurposed materials, all while exploring your artistic flair. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned baker, you’ll leave with a unique creation. Bring your imagination and let’s make delicious looking art together!

In this guided session, our instructor will walk you through each step, from forming the basic shape of the dog’s face to adding those distinctive features—big ears, expressive eyes, and that signature wrinkled nose.

Workshop: Handmade Paper
This workshop is perfect for artists who aren't afraid to get messy! Participants will learn how to make recycled paper from start to finish, from making paper pulp to pulling sheets of paper from a paper slurry to safely cleaning up. The instructor will also demonstrate how to make paper using non-traditional tools!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only.

Workshop: Bottle Cap Pie Decorating
Join us for a hands-on workshop and get ready to create your own unique pie magnets using bottle caps and various craft supplies! You will learn different piping techniques to create miniature pies that can live on your fridge forever. Participants will take home 6 mini bottle cap pie magnets of a variety of “flavors”. Customize your magnets with a variety of clay toppings, textures, pie crust design, and so much more!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

Funky Fabric Fridays are all about processing the most interesting categories of fabric - from sparkly pink vinyl, to purple fur, and fluffy batting. Make & Take: Making Mending Kits for Unhoused Community
Drop by (no sign-up required!) our Community Space at Austin Creative Reuse to help us assemble mending kits for unhoused people in our community. These little mending kits, all contained in a reused Altoid tin, will have everything one needs to give their clothing a longer life - essential when one's ability to buy new clothing or access mending services is limited.
At this drop-by event, you'll help us cut fabric patches, thread buttons onto safety pins, and assemble all the pieces needed for each kit. Come and help for 10 minutes or a whole hour - up to you! This event is suitable for volunteers of all ages - so it's a great opportunity to get the whole family involved!
Workshop: Kintsugi
Join us for a transformative Kintsugi workshop, where art meets sustainability! Kintsugi, the ancient Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, not only highlights the beauty of imperfection but also embodies ACR’s mission of saving usable materials from the landfill.

FREE Make & Take: Pronoun Pins
Join Make At Rosie Community Makerspace members to customize your own pronoun or rainbow pin and show your pride all year round.
Using acrylic paint markers, you’ll get to paint, finish, and personalize a laser-cut pin made from recycled wood. Supplies will be provided, so you can have fun crafting and leave wearing your pin with pride.
This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 12-3pm to participate.

Learn to make beautiful origami to compliment your gifts and daily life! Paper can be more versatile and functional than plastic and zhuzh up anyone's routine. Reusing junk mail, left over magazines, and even cardboard can beautify and satisfy. You can send a message to the people in your life with the gift of time when you gift your origami.
