Reusing junk mail, left over magazines, and even cardboard can beautify and satisfy. You can send a message to the people in your life with the gift of time when you gift your origami.
Join Kelly (she/her) in our community space (next to the Office Section) to play with pretty paper and practice origami! This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 12-3PM to participate.

ACR at Rivian Second Sunday
Join Austin Creative Reuse and Rivian in learning about sustainability through the repurposing of unconventional materials to build your own reuse mosaic!
With parent guidance, 4-12 year old kiddos can learn about the importance of sustainability and creativity or participate in other activities such as: button making, Connect 4, giant Jenga and corn hole.
Attendees can enjoy complimentary bites provided by Taco Libre 512 (while supplies last).
The event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP in advance.

ACR at the Zilker Botanical Garden Gnome Grove Opening Celebration
The gnomes are coming together for a special Opening Celebration! Join ACR at Zilker Botanical Garden on Saturday, September 19 from 10AM - 2PM for a day of music, creativity, local food, and lots of gnome-inspired fun. Come explore the Grove, follow the music, discover hidden surprises, and enjoy bites from local food trucks. ACR will be bringing our creative spirit to the celebration with a reuse craft!
Dress up if you’re feeling gnome-y! There will be a community costume competition where the gnomiest takes it all, but you can go cozy, quirky, magical, or simply come as you are.

Reuse on the Runway: A Night of Fashion, Cosplay & Drag
Our fifth annual community reuse fashion show, Reuse on the Runway: A Night of Fashion, Cosplay & Drag, will feature dozens of local designers showcasing many unique looks! Every look that will be showcased in the event features innovative reuse materials or methods. Our aim is to encourage creatives to explore materials in a new way and show our community that fashion can be stunning and environmentally friendly.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Mueller's Branch Park Pavilion! Tickets are on sale now - join us for a night of fun at Austin's most unique fashion show! Secure your spot now for an evening filled with creativity, sustainability, and style!
Doors open at 5:30PM and the show will start at 6:30PM.
In addition to the runway show, there will be fun, family-friendly activities that celebrate reuse and the creativity of our community, including a live art demo from our Artist-in-Residence, Charity Ridpath!
There will be a full bar, as well as snacks sold at the bar.

Join us on Sunday, August 23 from 12-3PM for a celebration of reuse art, community, and a mini-market featuring reuse art vendors on our shaded outdoor portico and sidewalk. August’s Summer Sunday theme is Get Out the Vote, underscoring the importance of voting and civic engagement! To that end, we'll have a voter registration drive hosted by the League of Women Voters and a "Write Your Representative" station hosted by the Hispanic Austin Leadership Program. We'll also be joined by Austin City Councilor for District 4 and Mayor Pro Tem José “Chito” Vela, who will speak with constituents and deliver welcoming remarks. *Update* MPT Vela will not be able to attend the event.

ACR at Morning Glories: Back to School
Start the school year off strong! Come enjoy a morning at the park featuring a community resource fair and fun activities including storybook reading with Nick Solis and Texas Book Festival, line dance lessons with Vonda White and DJ Ghost, food & drink, art activities, and more. Plus special appearances by H·E·Buddy and the Del Valle High School Cardinal Band!
ACR will be on hand with a fun reuse craft: reuse mosaics!

FREE Make & Take: Origami
Learn to make beautiful origami to compliment your gifts and daily life! Paper can be more versatile and functional than plastic and zhuzh up anyone's routine. Reusing junk mail, left over magazines, and even cardboard can beautify and satisfy. You can send a message to the people in your life with the gift of time when you gift your origami.
Join Kelly (she/her) in our community space (next to the Office Section) to play with pretty paper and practice origami! This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 12-3PM to participate.

Our Community Volunteer days are a time for anyone who would like to lend a hand come in and volunteer. Sorting & Packaging is going through all the tiny odds and ends, sorting them by like items and packaging them for the floor. If you enjoy creating order out of chaos, this is the opportunity for you!

Educator Extravaganza + Resource Fair!
Are you a public educator? Join us for our annual Educator Extravaganza + Resource Fair! A great selection of classroom and teaching supplies will be available on a pay-what-you-can basis, and we will host a resource fair with several local non-profit partners, including AISD, Keep Austin Beautiful, and more!
