  • Need any accommodations? Just let us know on your application! We will do everything we can to ensure that you can fully participate in this unique cultural event. However, to ensure that your experience is nothing but positive, please disclose any accommodations or needs in advance.

    • Designers get to share their unique talents with a supportive and enthusiastic audience! There is nothing like seeing the faces of spectators when when you debut your masterpiece.

    • Designers get exclusive access to designer meet & make sessions.

    • All designers get an all access pass to the event for themselves, plus one complimentary ticket to share with a friend of family member.

    • Designers may have the opportunity to have their look showcased at local places of business and public art galleries.

  • Ideally designers will model their own looks or bring their own model(s) (friends or family love to be asked!).

If a designer cannot find a model, we may be able to match them with a volunteer model to wear their look on the runway.

  • Nope, this event is free for all designers! At Austin Creative Reuse we believe creative expression should be available to everyone, not hidden behind paywalls. While Austin Creative Reuse cannot provide designers with materials with which to create their looks, low-cost materials of all kinds can be found at our reuse center.

Event sponsors may also be providing special materials (old gift cards anyone?) that any designer may incorporate into their look if they wish.

  • Maybe! Each designer can apply to showcase up to three looks, and we aim to fit as many looks into the show as we can. We encourage first time designers to focus on creating one epic look, but will consider multiple looks for everyone.

On the application, we ask designers if their look could be suited for a model that uses a wheel chair or has mobility impairments.

  • Yes! We expect that some of our designers will be searching for models for their looks.

  • Models

    • Volunteer to walk a designer’s look down the runway.

    • No experience is necessary to model for the show, but training may not be provided.

    • We welcome everyone to model these unique reuse looks! Including people of all gender expressions, cultures and backgrounds, ages, and sizes. We would love our cast to be as diverse as the looks walking down the runway.

    • Please note we typically have more models apply than we have designers who need models.

    Backstage Hair & Makeup Artists

    • Help out backstage getting models runway ready! Experience doing hair and makeup for others necessary.

Face/Body Paint or Costume Make-up Artists

    • We want everyone to feel a part of the show! We are seeking someone with experience doing face and/or body painting or costume make-up to give quick make-overs/ simple face paintings for audience members.

    Event Planners

    • Have experience making dreams a reality? Help us make this the best Reuse on the Runway yet!

    Videographer

    • We’d love to find some videographers (experienced or aspiring) to take footage and turn it into some awesome videos! We are interested in filming the making of Reuse on the Runway as well as the event itself.

    Bartenders

    • If you are TABC certified (or will be), we’d love your help at the bar during the event!

    General Volunteers

    • Not sure where your skills would be of best use or just want to help in whatever way we need? We needs loads of volunteers to pull this event off! Let us know that you’re interested.

  • All models and crew members will get an all access pass to the show (even if they are not working the day of the event).
