Austin Creative Reuse Welcomes Danny Mericle as Our First-Ever Operations Director!
We’re excited to share some big news: Austin Creative Reuse has hired Danny Mericle as our very first Operations Director! This new position marks a significant milestone for ACR and underscores the importance of our largest and most public-facing program—the Creative Reuse Center.
While we’ve always aimed to be more than just a retail space, the Creative Reuse Center remains the heartbeat of our organization. It’s our primary source of revenue and the basis of all the creative, educational, and environmental initiatives that make ACR a truly impactful organization. With Danny’s guidance, we look forward to making the Center an even more engaging and community-centric space for all to enjoy and collaborate in the process of creative reuse.
Danny brings with him a deep passion for the nonprofit world and a wealth of experience at several nationally-known organizations. His career began in service, as a volunteer coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and he’s since worked with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Goodwill Industries, and Catholic Charities San Antonio. With extensive expertise in grant management, program development, and business operations, Danny is perfectly positioned to help guide ACR through its next chapter of growth.
Recently relocated to Austin with his daughter, Aria, Danny instantly connected with the spirit of ACR during his first visit to the Center. He described loving the “vibe” here—and we couldn’t agree more! Our community of passionate staff, volunteers, donors, and shoppers create something truly special, united by a shared commitment to conservation, creativity, and reuse.
Next time you're at the center, be sure to say hello and give Danny a warm ACR welcome. An avid cross stitcher, he stitched his own rainbow name tag which is a work of art all its own. We’re so glad to have him and his sparkling personality on board!
