Keeping Windsor Park Beautiful, One Neighborhood Litter Clean-Up at a Time

Huge thanks to the 39 volunteers that joined us for a neighborhood litter clean-up on Keep Austin Beautiful Day, this past Saturday, April 18! Our two-hour clean-up effort focused on the creek behind the center as well as the streets and sidewalks around the Windsor Park neighborhood.

In total, our group collected 432 pounds of litter, which is the equivalent of 44 trash bags, with 10 bags being recycled and 34 bags going to the landfill.

We also collected over 80 pounds of bulky items, including one shopping cart, one radiator grill, and two pieces of furniture.

In addition, these "funky" trash items that we collected will be sanitized and turned into a new art project for the center, so stay tuned for the finished piece!
