Our Neighborhood Litter Clean-Up with Keep Austin Beautiful for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Thank you to our wonderful group of volunteers that came out on Monday, January 19 to help us clean up the neighborhood around the center for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service!

We had 50 volunteers spread over three clean-up sites for two hours, with an emphasis on the creek that runs directly behind the center.

In total, we collected over 450 pounds of litter, which is the equivalent of 50 trash bags, with 10 bags being recycled and 40 bags going to the landfill.

We collected several items of note during the clean-up, including six wigs, one tractor tire, and one metal bed frame.

Special shout-out to Keep Austin Beautiful for joining us, and we look forward to joining forces again soon for another neighborhood litter clean-up for Keep Austin Beautiful Day in April!
