ACR is thrilled to be hosting a series of free classes taught by the Austin Area Quilt Guild!
This 6-hour workshop is for the novice or beginner sewer interested in learning to quilt. Using a simple quilt-as-you-go technique, participants will make a pair of placemats. Students will learn tips and techniques to sew straight, accurate quarter-inch seams and to machine bind a quilt.
Fabric and batting to make the project will be provided and participants will have a selection of kits to choose from. The guild will also supply basic sewing supplies and sewing machines, as needed.
AAQG member Carrie Thielemann will teach the class. Carrie has been sewing for over 60 years, began quilting eight years ago, and honed her skills by making dozens of simple, beautiful quilts for the guild’s charity quilting projects.
Class Fee: $ FREE
