Become a Core Volunteer - Seasonal and Long-Term Opportunities Available
If you are ready to volunteer with us regularly, we would love for you to become a Core Volunteer!
Both Seasonal and Long-Term Core Volunteers have more flexibility and can choose the projects they help with. Learn more about the Seasonal Core Volunteer Program below, or the Long Term Core Volunteer Program here.
Seasonal Core Volunteer Program
-
The Seasonal Core Volunteer Program is designed to be super quick and easy to get started, so that it’s a better fit for volunteers with a shorter time to give (like a summer break).
The main difference is that Seasonal volunteers will only be trained on processing materials. Seasonal volunteers will not be trained on special event volunteering or specialist projects.
Seasonal Core Volunteers:
Will be trained to process materials and will get to choose the projects that interest them most.
Will be able to work on processing materials in-center, or can take projects home (yes, you can volunteer while watching your favorite movies!).
Can join scheduled community volunteering sessions where a leader will instruct participants on the project
-
Participants must be 15 years old by June 1, 2026.
Must commit to 25 hours of service between June 1 and August 31, 2026.
-
Volunteers help us sort, pack, and price many of our donations! Volunteers will get to choose the projects that interest them most, like sorting and bundling sea shells or measuring and rolling fabric. Most projects are self-led with detailed written instructions. Volunteers can also take projects home to work on independently.
Volunteers also have the choice to join scheduled volunteering sessions where a leader will instruct participants on the project.
-
The first step is filling out your application - be sure to select “Seasonal Volunteer”. Then, you’ll need to complete a series of orientation videos and knowledge checks, and a few other steps that will all be emailed to you.
