Indian Handheld Fans

  • Austin Creative Reuse 2005 Wheless Lane Austin, TX, 78723 United States (map)

Create your own "Haath pankha" (Indian fan) to help keep you cool when the Texas summer arrives!

Indian handheld fans, known as “Haath pankha”, have been used since ancient times. From highly embellished kinds with luxurious embroideries and fabrics used for royals to basic ones for the commoners, they were a part of daily life. Each region of the subcontinent had its own unique style too! Join us in making your very own Haath pankha, which you can carry on a warm sunny day to a picnic in the park - it’s bound to make you look and feel cool!

This is an indoor workshop, masks are optional.
