Participants are welcome to make as many flowers as they want while developing this new skill, and you can choose from a wide range of project to add them to. The possibilities are truly endless, but a couple examples would be a assembling a flower bouquet/vase, embellishing a picture frame or decorating a flower crown or shadow box!

Some of the techniques used in this class will be heat embossing, splatter ink and stamping. Participants can also experiment on their own and see how tearing and sanding foiled paper creates an awesome effect! The instructor will have a wide range of materials available, but a majority will be hardware/tool or wildflower themed.

In this class, participants will be introduced to foundation paper piecing, which is a quilting method where fabric is sewn onto a paper template. Participants will choose from a few provided block patterns and make one 6-8” quilt block. You will leave with either a completed pot holder, or one block to take home and start a bigger quilt! We will also go over adding batting, top stitching, and bias tape to finish a quilt.

Workshop: Beginner Basket Weaving

The delight of making and receiving handmade baskets cannot be told enough. In this workshop, participants will learn how to read patterns and use their new skills to weave a basic basket. Each participant will go home with a completed basket to enjoy or give as a gift! Baskets will be roughly 6-7” wide and 6” tall, perfect for napkins or muffins!

This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

Workshop: Reuse Robots

In this workshop, you will be guided Master Builder and long-time ACR volunteer, Clyde, to reimagine the weird and wacky items that around found in our Bucket section- aka the items that have lived their first life and are looking for a new purpose. This workshop is a great way to stretch your imagination legs, become a true β€˜reuse artist’ and make something completely unique!

This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only (yes, adults, too!). Minors do not have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the workshop

Kids Workshop: Junk Mosaics

Iο»Ώn this workshop, kids will explore the art of mosaics! With guidance from our instructor, Barbara Paris, participants will be encouraged to explore their creativity and play with different materials and designs. Drop the kiddos off and enjoy a morning to yourself!

This workshop is best enjoyed by kids between the ages of 4 and 15 years old. Minors do not need to be accompanied by an adult, so drop them off and enjoy a couple hours to yourself!
