Día de los Muertos Community Ofrenda

Join us in celebrating Día de los Muertos by adding your own framed picture of a loved one to our Community Ofrenda! Starting Tuesday, October 10th, you can contribute to a beautiful altar in remembrance of those who have passed on, set up by our Community Engagement Manager, Tanya.

Decorating frames with reuse materials, using memorabilia or embellishments indicative of your loved one's favorite pastimes or interests is highly encouraged. When dropping off your photo, please make sure to take it to a Reuse Specialist at the register so that they may label it and take your details for return after November 2nd.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, which takes place on September 19th, we’re hosting a voter registration drive by the League of Women Voters! The LWV is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that is all about registering folks to vote and advocating for voting rights.

Stop by to check and see if you’re registered at your current address, or register for the first time!

Scavenger Hunt- Women's Equality Day

Who said learning about our foremothers had to be dull? In celebration of Women’s Equality Day, ACR is hosting a free Scavenger Hunt to honor some of the important women who have gotten us to where we are today. To enter, search for the 5 pictures of Influential Women hidden around the center during our open hours on Saturday, August 26. When you find a flyer, snap a pic and submit it to the online form. From the submissions, we will be randomly selecting 10 people to win $10 ACR gift cards!

Bucket Voucher Giveaway- National Nonprofit Day

As we’re sure you understand, it takes a lot of work to keep ACR running. We have 28 people on our staff and over 200 volunteers who help us fulfill our mission and support the local creative community! If you’ve ever wanted an excuse to write us a Thank You card, now's your chance!

To celebrate National Non-Profit Day, we will have a box at the register all week (Tues 8/15 - Sun 8/20) where you can drop off a card for our team and receive a voucher for a FREE 5-gal Bucket from our Bucket Section!

In celebration of World UFO Day, we’re hosting a costume contest at the center! Show up anytime we’re open wearing your interpretation of an alien or UFO costume, snap a photo of yourself, and enter to win a chance at a $25 ACR gift card! 👽 👾 🚀 🛸 🖖 #TheTruthIsOutThere

In order to qualify:

  • The entry form must be submitted on the day of the contest

  • The photo must be taken inside of Austin Creative Reuse on the day of the contest

  • Costume must be made out of at least 75% reuse materials
